Plumbing arrives: Bathroom Renovation Project 2

The plumbing arrived last night. We inventoried it early this morning. Here is a quick survey.

The photo below is the tower drain, which will come out of the floor beside/behind the tub. It's all a freestanding sidemount, along what will ultimately be the "back" side of the tub.

Water supply lines. They will come straight out of the floor beside the tub on either side of the tower drain, and attached to it with a bracket. They're secured, in part, by the tower drain.

Here is the tubfill, which attaches to the top of the supply lines. The porcelain handle diverts water from the tub faucet to the shower assembly.

Here is the handshower assembly, which attaches to the top of the tubfill:

And the hand shower:

And finally, the shower riser, which attaches to the top of the hand shower riser. There is a shower head that attaches to this piece, but I didn't get a photo. You get the picture.

  1. With these materials all prepared, I think you should ready yourself for more work. Plumbing is not an easy job, especially if it is your first time. It would be better if you have a professional plumber to help you out with this job. Anyway, good luck!

  2. Jaye has a point. Plumbing isn’t as easy as a pie. I hope you asked for a professional’s help if you want a well-functioning tub and plumbing. But from reading through your recent posts, I think you did a good job with the plumbing. Still, it’s not too late to have a professional take a second look at it to be sure.

  3. Impressive bathroom fixtures! Those silver stainless fixtures look elegant. How did the installation go? Our bathroom has brass plumbing. I prefer that type not only because the color is similar to gold, but it also lasts longer because its tolerance is much better than other types of metal.

  4. Lovella - Thanks for the comment! They're actually chrome covered solid brass from Sunrise Specialty. I like a brass look too, but it didn't seem to suit the house, somehow. The installation took a little extra time, but overall, we're very happy with the look.
